The Otis Controller Type 411 is one of the most widely deployed traction elevator control systems in North America. Introduced in the 1980s and refined through the 1990s and 2000s, the 411 platform uses the MCSS (Modular Control and Safety System) architecture with dedicated processor and I/O boards.
Key boards include the MCSS Processor Board (ABA26800 series), MCSS I/O Board (ACA3800 / AAA00619 series), and the RCB-III relay controller (GA21270A). These boards span revisions from 1989 through 2018, reflecting the platform's long service life.
MagneTek supplied the drive systems used with many Otis Controller 411 installations. The DBSS Control board and Duty Plug board (ARU3296) are commonly needed replacement parts for MagneTek DC drive systems paired with the 411 controller.
